Austin Tri 2010

Austin Tri is one of my favourite races to shoot. I've been feeling a bit bored of the race pictures recently, and Amanda came up with the great idea of focusing a bit more than usual on the unique stores in South Congress, that the race goes by. Many of these are Austin landmarks and locally owned. I think they give the shots a real sense of place, more than the clean and uniform backgrounds I usually try to incorporate. Fun to shoot in a place where that's actually an option. The fact that it started to rain really heavily, with the sun still coming in and out of the clouds was a real gift, to me, even if it wasn't for the competitors!
