Santa Fe

We decided to spend Christmas in Santa Fe, NM. I'd never been there before and Christmas seemed like a good time to go! We had a few inches of snow, just enough to make everything pretty but not too much to spoil walking around. The food was great, the town is lovely, in a slightly faked to stay old-fashioned way and the food was fantastic.

All the pictures here were taken with my iPhone. I'm continually surprised with what I can get out of that with some attention to the format and a couple of cheap applications to do a bit of post processing on the phone. If anyone is interested I can write a bit about what those are and how I'm using them, too. I have more images I took on a better camera, still languishing on the memory card. Meanwhile, I've managed to arrange prints of some of these iPhone pictures, all before even leaving Santa Fe.

Merry Christmas Gprdpn... Glad you had a nice time in Santa Fe.

Love the iPhone images...

Would love to hear more about them as well.

Impatiently waiting for Verizon to get the iPhone here.

I'll be the first in line!

Gordon, how much more talented of a person can you be? Those pictures are amazing. I'd love to hear more about what the iPhone can do and what apps you used.

Which apps did you use for editing?

Nice work you are getting out of the iPhone. I have been comfortable using mine if I treat it as a Holga-type device (I have been using the CameraBag app). I get frustrated often not having basic exposure controls though...

I'd be interested in the details. My iPhone is often the only camera I have with me, but I never use and photography-related apps.

I see that someone has been listening to Chase Jarvis! Very nice iPhone photos, indeed. Santa Fe looks like a magical place. I'll have to put it on my list of places to visit.

@Paul in some ways, though 'best camera' is about the worst editing app I've found. Too heavy handed for almost any picture I've taken, when I tried it. Wish I hadn't spent the money. I use it to upload to facebook and twitter and that's about it. the filters are mostly a waste of time.

i am very interested in hearing about the apps you have been using. i have grown fond of camera bag but still find it very limiting. would like some of your wise counsel.

I'm firmly convinced Ansel Adams would have enjoyed the iPhone camera too - He loved technological advances and imagined a vaible electronic image long before most of us.

If photographers are open - their eye, heart, and mind can use any tool to make art.

Nifty images - so yes please - let us know what image processors you like on the iPhone.
